3 Days Murchison Falls Safari

Your safari with African Scenic Beauty Safaris begins early in the morning as we pick you up from Kampala or Entebbe. The journey north takes you through Uganda’s picturesque countryside with rolling hills, traditional homesteads, and roadside markets. Along the way, you’ll make a memorable stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where wild rhinos can be tracked on foot. Accompanied by experienced rangers, you’ll enjoy an up-close encounter with these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. After the rhino tracking experience, you’ll have lunch in Masindi town before continuing to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll drive to the Top of the Falls, where the Nile River is forced through a narrow 7-meter gorge, crashing down 45 meters with thunderous power. The view is breathtaking and a highlight of the trip. After enjoying this spectacular scene, you’ll proceed to your lodge for dinner and a well-deserved night’s rest.

After an early breakfast, you’ll head out for a morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile. This part of the park is rich in wildlife, and with some luck, you may spot lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, hartebeest, and possibly even leopards. The open savannah and scattered woodlands provide perfect photo opportunities and a true African safari feel. After several hours of game viewing, you’ll return to the lodge to relax and have lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile, a highlight of any visit to Murchison Falls. The slow journey upstream takes you to the base of the falls, passing large pods of hippos, sunbathing crocodiles, elephants drinking at the riverbanks, and a variety of birdlife including kingfishers, herons, and possibly the elusive shoebill stork. For those interested and physically fit, there's an optional hike to the top of the falls, offering a unique perspective of the mighty Nile’s dramatic plunge. You’ll then return to your lodge in time for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe. Depending on your schedule, there may be an opportunity for a brief morning game drive to spot any animals you may have missed the previous day. The scenic drive back offers another chance to enjoy the beauty of rural Uganda, with a stop for lunch along the way. You will arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, where we will drop you off at your preferred location be it your hotel or Entebbe International Airport—bringing your incredible 3-day adventure to a close.
